I started my primary degree in 1991 at the University of Sciences of Poitiers (France), my home town, where I obtained a Deug A (Sciences Degree), and completed it in 1995 at the University of Kingston, Kingston-Upon-Thames (England) with a B.Sc. in Applied Chemistry. I then went on to do a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry in Trinity College Dublin (Ireland), under the supervision of Prof. T. B. H. McMurry. The aim of the project was to synthesise a number of substituted deazapterins as potential inhibitors of the DNA repair protein, 06-alkylguanine-DNA alkyltransferase. After the completion of my Ph.D. in 2000, I joined the Dr. Thorri Gunnlaugsson research group in Trinity College Dublin, as a postdoctoral researcher. My current work is the organic synthesis of novel anti-cancer therapeutics, which can act as DNA intercalators.

Besides chemistry, I enjoy travelling, keeping fit and a good night out especially when involving wine and French cheese.
